Diez viñedos, seis casas, una iglesia.

La historia de Braida está vinculada a la de Rocchetta Tanaro, un pequeño pueblo en el área de Monferrato de Asti. "Mi país no es una sorpresa, son diez viñedos, seis casas, una iglesia" : estas son las palabras del chansonnier Paolo Frola, quien también es médico de Rocchetta. La canción fue escrita con Gianni Mura, bebiendo la Barbera di Rocchetta. De esos diez viñedos cantados por Frola, algunos son Braida. Pertenecían al abuelo Giuseppe, luego pasaron al padre Giacomo, ahora son cultivados por Giuseppe y Raffaella Bologna. La compañía nació del entusiasmo, la pasión y el coraje empresarial de un rocchettese "Doc", Giacomo Bologna. Primera cosecha de La Monella.
1961 es la fecha de la primera añada de la animada Barbera del Monferrato "La Monella" que Giacomo Bologna decidió embotellar. En 1969 Giacomo presentó su vino en la Competencia Nacional de Asti Douja d'Or, ganando la medalla de oro que le permitió participar de forma gratuita en las ferias de Génova, Turín y Milán, donde se comparó con otros productores en el tema de Barbera.

Bricco dell'Uccellone: ​​la revolución de Barbera.
En 1982 la cosecha fue excepcional y algunos vinos obtenidos, como el vino Bricco dell'Uccellone y otro vino Babera de la bodega Rocchetta Tanaro, el Bricco della Bigotta y más tarde, en el año 1989, el Ai Suma, fueron espectaculares.
- 1988.
Compra de la finca Serra dei Fiori en Trezzo Tinella.

Primera cosecha de Vigna Senza Nome.
Tradicionalmente, Braida compraba las uvas para Moscato d'Asti a los productores de Canelli. La primera cosecha de Il Bacialè se remonta a 1994, un proyecto de Giuseppe Bologna que se hace con Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon y Cabernet Franc.

Primera cosecha de nuestros vinos blancos en Langa.
- 2001.
Primera añada de Montebruna.
Otra unión importante gestionada por Giuseppe Bologna es la de las muchas parcelas de tierra que hoy conforman la extensa viña Montebruna: en 2001 se cosechó la primera Barbera Montebruna.
-2008.
El Bricco dell'Uccellone Grappa está hecho.
Desde una intuición del maestro destilador Gianfranco Berta, que quería colaborar para hacer que la imagen de Barbera d'Asti fuera genial, desde 2008 se ha agregado una grappa a la familia de vinos Braida. La Grappa envejecida de Bricco dell'Uccellone se obtiene del destilado del orujo de uno de los vinos más famosos de la bodega Rocchetta Tanaro.

Cabernet Franc se agrega a Barbera, Pinot Noir, Merlot y Cabernet Sauvignon, con su contribución de equilibrio, facilidad de consumo y limpieza de perfumes.

Después de la larga ausencia, Ai Suma regresa, cosecha 2015.




Viñedos.

Las propiedades Braida se encuentran entre Monferrato Asti y Langhe. El corazón de la actividad está representado por los viñedos de Rocchetta Tanaro, suelos de textura media, con arena y arcilla en casi igual medida; aquí están el preciado cru Bricco dell'Uccellone, Bricco della Bigotta y Montebruna y las tierras ricas en limo donde nace Grignolino d'Asti Limonte. Otros viñedos se encuentran en Castelnuovo Calcea y Costigliole d'Asti, también en Monferrato, que presentan suelos sueltos y ligeros compuestos de arenas calizas en el primer caso, arcilloso-calcáreos con excelente exposición montañosa en el segundo. - Rocchetta Tanaro, 160 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
La composición principal de los suelos es de textura media, es decir, con arena y arcilla en igual medida. Aquí obtenemos vinos con un intenso espectro aromático y gustativo en comparación con suelos más sueltos.
- Castelnuovo Calcea, 230 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
Suelos sueltos compuestos de arenas calcáreas, por lo tanto, ligeras y que tienden a calentarse fácil y rápidamente, incluso en profundidad, permitiendo que las raíces comiencen a funcionar incluso en los primeros tiempos.
