Fundada en 1715 Quinta Do Noval es una de las grandes casas productoras de oportos, con una peculiaridad: Instalaciones y viñedos se encuentran en una misma propiedad, al estilo de los châteaux. Una finca con una ubicación privilegiada en el valle del Pinhâo, Cima Corgo, en el corazón del Valle del Duero. Sus viñedos están clasificados con la letra A, que es la máxima categoría, y están cultivados con las castas nobles del Douro: Touriga nacional, tinta roriz, touriga franca, tinto cão, tinta barroca, tinta francisca, sousão. Las parcelas poseen una rica diversidad geográfica y se extienden en terrazas a lo largo de las riberas del Douro y sus afluentes, a una altitud entre 100 y 500 metros, sobre suelos de pizarra y arcilla. Quinta do Noval es una de las principales firmas exportadoras de oportos de alta calidad. El nombre Quinta do Noval apareció por primera vez en los catastros en 1715. El mercader de Oporto, António José da Silva, se hizo cargo de la Quinta do Noval en 1894, antes devastada por la filoxera. Reanimó la finca al replantar las viñas. Luiz Vasconselos Porto, yerno de António José da Silva, es autor de un gran programa de innovaciones. En particular, convierte las viejas terrazas estrechas en amplias, lo que permite un uso más eficiente del espacio y una mejor exposición al sol. En ese momento, se le consideraba un proceso innovador. Hoy en día, todavía son perceptibles con sus escaleras decoradas con cal. Quinta do Noval está situado en el corazón del valle del Douro, en Cima Corgo, sólo a 2 kilómetros del pequeño pueblo de Pinhão. A medida que te aproximas a la entrada de la quinta desde Pinhão, podrán ver los famosos viñedos en el lado derecho. Vinos.
Quinta do Noval está situado en el corazón del valle del Douro, en Cima Corgo, sólo a 2 kilómetros del pequeño pueblo de Pinhão. A medida que te aproximas a la entrada de la quinta desde Pinhão, podrán ver los famosos viñedos en el lado derecho. Son 145 hectáreas de vino, a la altura del río Pinhao. Normalmente los invitados aparcan en el otro lado de la bodega, junto al famoso viñedo, con un bosque de cedros que le ofrece su sombra en verano, y que también sirve para servir los aperitivos en la bodega en ocasiones. En 1958, Quinta do Noval fue la primera compañía en lanzar un porto 'Late Bottled Vintage', es decir, un porto Vintage de embotellado tarde, por lo menos 2 años más tarde que el clásico Vintage. Existo entonces como Quinta do Noval LBV 1954. Esta fue la creación de una nueva categoría de porto, que fue el centro de las conversaciones en la región durante mucho tiempo.
