Este ron ha sido originariamente destialdo y envejecido en Guatemala, pero en 2008, Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala selló un acuerdo de distribución con el conglomerado Diageo, distribuidor de grandes marcas del sector como el ron Zacapa. Este hecho impulsó su comercialización como un ron lujoso de degustación, cosa que obligó a trasladar su producción a Trinidad y Tobago, donde ahora es producido por Trinidad Distillers Ltd. Destilado 5 veces, está elaborado con una receta artesana secreta basada en la mezcla de varios rones que han envejecido un mínimo de 12 años en barricas de roble y que lo dotan de un sabor muy similar al del ron originario de Guatemala. |
