El siglo XIX, se considera la época dorada de los destiladores de malta, por lo que la compra fue muy importante. Fue durante una de las visitas a la destilería GLENFARCLAS, en la sala que hace a la vez de archivo de muestras y de viejas botellas donde surgió la idea de crear una replica de dicha botella. Su reproducción no parecía tarea fácil, y realmente se ha tardado tres años en conseguirlo. La realización de un buen whisky blended es la confirmación de una experiencia de largos años y de un estilo particular. El Sr. Gordon J.Doctor, uno de los mas distinguidos blenders, ha seleccionado los mejores maltas, de las tierras altas escocesas, obtenidos en prestigiosas destilerías y los ha envejecido durante largos años en botas principalmente de jerez. El resultado, este único y especial aguardiente usige beata para los escoceses con un sabor inspirado en los blendeds del siglo XIX, época en que los whiskies combinaban la robustez y la calidad, con un acento jerezano inconfundible. El malta se dejaba sentir en el paladar, elegante, en boca una combinación de avellanas, nueces y un ligero toque de miel, el final largo, seco, cálido con notas de naranja amarga. Esta experiencia concluye hoy en pequeñas ediciones de 3.000 botellas numeradas de Highland Dream of Scotland de 18 años. |
