The production region of A.O.C. Chablis Premier Cru is located in La región vinícola más al norte de Borgoña, Francia. La denominación utiliza exclusivamente uvas Chardonnay. Las vides alrededor de la ciudad de Chablis hacen un vino blanco seco famoso por la pureza de su aroma y sabor. En comparación con los vinos blancos del resto de Borgoña, el vino Chablis tiene típicamente menos influencia del roble. Chablis se encuentra a unos 16 km al este de Auxerre en el departamento de Yonne, situado aproximadamente a medio camino entre la Côte d'Or y París. De las áreas vitícolas de Francia, solo Champagne y Alsacia tienen una ubicación más al norte. Chablis está más cerca del sur del distrito de Champagne Aube que el resto de Borgoña. La región cubre un área de 15 x 20 kilómetros a través de 27 municipios ubicados a lo largo del río Serein. El Grand Crus, los mejores viñedos de la zona, se encuentran en una sola y pequeña ladera, orientada al suroeste y situada justo al norte de la ciudad de Chablis.
